Messy Roommates

Ok, does anyone else have messy roommates or have had messy roommates? This might be one of the most annoying things in the world. Not only are they messy, but they don't ever "get it" when all their trash is just magically gone the next day.

One of my other roommates helps me clean up all the time but as soon as we clean up, we come back to a messy room again. No matter how many times we tell our messy roommates to clean up their crap, they won't.

Anyone have any ideas on how to either
1. get them back?
or
2. get them to clean the room every once in awhile?

The worse, the better, hahahaha.

  2. Haha umm I kind of know what you are talking about lol.
I have been told to just deal with it because it won't last forever (you move out eventually). Also, just be happy you aren't married to the person. Cause that would suck.
Also, just pity the person they end up marrying, they will have lots of suckiness in the future.

one tip - now, bear with me- take a dump in a bag some day.
Slowly, day by day, just smear a little bit of it near their bed (preferably under some of their mess) Eventually the smell should build up that they will HAVE to clean the room. When they discover the poo, just inform them that you make bowel movements about every 20 hours, so they better keep their crap clean (no pun intended, well, maybe)

  6. I think the best way is to talk to him and tell him he needs to shape up.

  7. I used to have a roommate that would just leave every thing he possessed in a direct path from the living space to the door. I just got a new one lol

  10. I had the same problem when I was living away from my parents. My 2 roommates (A guy and girl (I know, I thought girls were meant to be clean)) never did washing, dishes, vacuum/mop. After a month I got sick and tired of it and only did my own cleaning. Any mess that was theirs left lying around was put into their rooms. Ahhh good fun.

  15. mattnagi has the answer. Depending your living arrangements, of course. If you have separate rooms, all his crap gets thrown in the room. HIS dirty dishes go on the bed. (if it becomes a problem that he starts using your clean dishes, hide them in your room) I would put it straight on the bed too.

I'm unfortunately the only one in my family that can clean the house up overall, but my mother can't stand throwing shit out which piles things up, and my sister uses everything as her closet. Any time I try to do something to clean though, i get my head bitten off and guilt tripped since they both do a lot of things for me.
